About the Photographer

A Utah native, my love of wildlife and the outdoors was greatly influenced by my experiences camping and fishing in the mountains of Southern Utah, specifically Labaron Meadows in the Beaver mountains. From these adventures, I learned important lessons for photographing wildlife, such as patience, persistence, and respect for God’s creations.

I first picked up a camera in 2010 and began learning the art of photography. Beginning with family, newborn, senior, and weddings I learned very quickly what kind of photography I did and did not enjoy. After working as a photographer for several years I stepped away as my kids were entering stages where they played junior high and high school sports and demanded a lot of my time that was previously devoted to photography.  I loved photography and did not want to put the camera down. I found myself sitting at volleyball, soccer, baseball and basketball games for hours each week.  I decided instead of just sitting and watching I would spend time at their games taking action shots for their coaches and teammates.  Over the years I have given literally tens of thousands of images to athletes in our community and taken team photos for our junior high and high school free of charge.  I have enjoyed learning action sports photography and I continue to do that.

While visiting Yellowstone in 2012 I found myself taking pictures of the wildlife and landscapes and loving every second of it. It has not been until the last few years that my kids have grown a bit and I have been able to spend time in the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem and learn more about this type of photography. I have fallen in love with the wildlife and I am always looking for an opportunity to take the short drive to Grand Teton National Park to spend time photographing the wildlife and ever changing landscape there.

Welcome to Jennie Cannon Photography! I hope you enjoy the images I have been able to collect and share with you. Thanks for visiting and I hope you will visit again soon.
